After a childhood filled with music, by 15 Martin was playing guitar in a Liverpool Irish folk band. In his late teens he performed with The National Youth Music Theatre at The Edinburgh Festival and after a competition win, The Saddlers Wells theatre. This early success with Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle and the music by Oscar winning composer Stephen Warbeck set the scene for a career striving for a creative standard. Later work with Oscar winning composer Gary Yershon had Martin working closely with Pete Townshend (The Who) in the early ‘90’s.
Martin has released three albums of original music and in 2022 his work on Harp Guitar “The Lark In The Clear Air” debuted six tracks on BBC Wales and remains on the BBC playlist.
Martin remains a busy working musician and entertainer. Previous clients include Sir Paul McCartney, Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) and The Mess, Fort Perch Rock. In November 2025 Martin’s original music will be featured and performed in Arkansas and Tennessee.
Despite working on many musical roles and situations, Martin’s 40 years in the business gives opportunities to tell many stories through music and time.
